What is Awana?
Awana is the only organization focused on evangelism and discipleship for children ages 2 to 18 that actively involve parents, church leaders and mentors. Awana helps churches and parents partner together to lead children to know, love, and serve Jesus Christ! Currently over a million children and youth attend Awana programs each week in over 18,000 churches worldwide.
When does Awana meet at Wright City Baptist Church ?
On Wednesday nights during the school year. 6pm-8pm.
Club Cancellation Policy:
AWANA will be cancelled anytime school is cancelled in the Wright City District. Whenever school is cancelled for whatever reason (weather, christmas break, spring break or any other reason) AWANA will NOT meet. The rule is if there is NO School there is NO AWANA!
If school has been in session but there is a question about the weather or AWANA has to be cancelled for any other reason… phone calls will try to be made… a note will be left on the Church Website and Facebook page. You may also check the following TV stations for cancellations due to inclement weather. KSDK (Channel 5) and Fox 2.
How much does Awana cost?
• Annual Club Dues of $25 per child will be collected each club year (August-May).
This covers the cost of all books, supplies, uniforms, and awards. Lost items are replaced at the family’s expense.
• These Dues may be paid on a weekly basis. ($5.00/week until total is paid…Uniform will not be given until fee is paid in full)
• Scholarship assistance is available by contacting Pastor Chad Hodges.
Who can participate in Awana?
• Any child Kindergarten through 6th Grade
• You do not have to be a member of First Baptist Wright City Church to attend.
Please invite your friends and neighbors to join you at Awana!
How are the clubs divided?
We currently offer two different Awana Clubs (Sparks and T&T).
For Children in Grades K through 2
To many children in kindergarten to second grade, Sparks is the highlight of the week! They love their red vests, the exciting games and spending time with leaders and friends.
Sparks is divided into three years, each with a unique rank: HangGlider®, WingRunner® and SkyStormer™. Each year, Sparks clubbers:
- explore the biographies of people of the Bible from a new portion of Scripture
- memorize Bible verses
- complete handbook activities
The handbooks, combined with Large Group Time lessons from the WHO Do I Need to Know From the Bible series, take your child on a journey through the entire Bible
For Children in Grades 3 through 6
Handbooks and large-group lessons deepen a child’s knowledge about God and His Word and teach how to put that knowledge into action in everyday life. Team orientated games encourages children to work together.
T&T is different from other Awana programs. It is comprised of two clubs with distinct curriculum, uniforms and awards:
•T&T Ultimate Adventure™ for third and fourth grades
•T&T Ultimate Challenge™ for fifth and sixth grades
The two clubs are designed to help kids stay plugged into T&T as they move into the preteen years and continue growing in their relationship with Christ.
What if I attend Awana on Sunday night somewhere else, can I still come?
• Absolutely! Just make sure when registering we note that for award purposes at the end of the year.
What if I would like to help with Awana?
Workers for Awana are always sought. Please stop by after club starts and inquire about what it is all about! We’d love to have you come and join us. We are here to reach young people with the Gospel of Jesus Christ and train them to serve Him.
Call (636)745-2446… email firstname.lastname@example.org or drop by the church anytime. Or better yet join us any Wednesday night for an Awana night. You’ll be glad you did!
